What are some opportunities offered by global mobility in the APAC region?

The world is a global talent oyster! There is a whole big global talent pool out there where there are increasing numbers of well-educated and talented individuals who are more globally connected and looking for international mobility opportunities. As Lee U-jin, head of HR in Asia for Sibelco Asia, states, “This trend provides new opportunities for companies to attract the best people, but at the same time, they also open themselves up to the risk of losing their most talented people to competitors.” Consider his advice to companies for staying on the receiving side of the global talent equation.

From my personal experience, I would like to offer a few options for companies to leverage this trend and stay ahead of the competition in attracting talents: - Build a strong employer brand by creating a culture of diversity and inclusion - Stay connected with the global pool of talent by leveraging on technology such as social media - Develop a more agile and constantly-evolving mobility strategy that is tailored to the diverse needs of internal high potentials At the same time, companies should also take advantage of the trend to create more opportunities and exposure for themselves.
