Where are the jobs in Q3 2016?

ManpowerGroup interviewed nearly 59,000 employers across 43 countries and territories to forecast labor market activity in Quarter 3 2016. All participants were asked, “How do you anticipate total employment at your location to change in the three months to the end of September 2016 as compared to the current quarter?”

The participants revealed that staffing levels are expected to grow in 40 of 43 countries and territories during the July-September time frame.

Third-quarter hiring confidence is strongest in India, Japan, Taiwan, Guatemala, Romania and the U.S., while employers in Brazil, Italy and Switzerland report the weakest hiring plans.

It will be interesting to monitor whether these findings possess any predicative powers as it relates to global mobility activity.

Steady hiring pace for the third quarter of 2016. The U.S. Manpower Employment Outlook Survey is one of the most trusted surveys of employment activity in the world. Every quarter, we ask more than 11,000 U.S. hiring managers about their hiring plans for the next three months. The results identify the strongest and weakest metropolitan areas, states and industries for hiring and pursuing jobs.
