What heads of global mobility want for Christmas this year

Hey mobility managers and directors,

Get a little pre-Christmas chuckle and consider some options for your 2017 Mobility Resolutions — aka areas where you think you can improve your global mobility program as the next year unfolds (courtesy of Communicaid). Some ideas posed:

  • Focus on duty of care
  • Get a better sense of what your counterparts and team members need out there in other regions to maximize their resources and effectiveness (with both time and money)
  • Reconsider how to improve the overall employee journey for employees experiencing mobility
  • Educate and collaborate with internal stakeholders on program details and processes to prevent exceptions, excessive spending and equity issues, not to mention possible compliance issues

And maybe the biggest one....find a partner that has the right attitude, experience, tools and desire to help your program take it to the next level!

Happy holidays!

Dear Santa Is Your Passport Up-to-date? If you visit every single country in the world, I don’t believe it’s possible for you to have the correct visas for each one. You appear to be ignoring all immigration and foreign travel policies, exposing yourself and your organisation to some serious risk. Anti-Corruption? Additionally, gift-giving as we now know is a big “no-no” with the latest anti-bribery laws. You are more than likely breaking anti-bribery and corruption laws across the globe (if you go over the £50 per gift threshold)? Are Your Expenses In Order? And finally, I’m not sure who is authorising your travel expenses, but you are aware, I hope, that most companies need paper receipts or at least scans. Reindeer food is rarely covered by the IRS or HMRC!
