For me, December is the most reflective month of the year. We spend time looking back at how this past year has unfolded, trying to determine what we have learned, and list out all that we have accomplished while looking forward to what the new year ahead will bring and what should carry over from the past year.
That said, now is an opportune time to reflect on the current state of your mobility program, consider the impact of this past year, and explore the needs of the business looking ahead. Many global mobility teams will re-read employee satisfaction surveys and meet with business line managers and recruiters as they attempt to set goals that will guide a new set of initiatives.
Each year I look back to see what I posted at this time 12 months ago. Of course, I did not mention that we should all prepare to address a global pandemic, but in my look-ahead post from 2019, I tried to help mobility managers consider what is working well and not working so well, and encouraged them to define what the top items on their lists would be for taking their mobility programs to the next level.
