According to the latest Global Peace Index (GPI) from the Institute for Economics and Peace, the world is indeed a more dangerous place than it was a year ago. However, it is interesting to note that due to the regional conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) intensifying, if MENA is excluded from the study, the peace levels across the rest of the world actually improved.
