In our first “Spotlight” webinar of 2025, Plus Relocation welcomed John Merriweather, Founder, President & CEO of GO Destination Services, for a dynamic conversation on current trends and challenges shaping destination services in the global mobility industry. Hosted by myself (Chris Pardo, VP of Consulting at Plus), and joined by Tracey Gatlin, SVP of Global Services & Supply Chain, the session explored the evolution of employee relocation support in a rapidly changing landscape.

John shared his journey into the destination services industry, highlighting the critical role DSPs play in easing transitions for relocating employees and their families. The discussion covered a wide range of timely topics including the impact of rising housing costs, how technology is streamlining operations, and how DSPs can measure and demonstrate ROI through productivity, retention, and employee satisfaction metrics.

Attendees gained insights into what relocating employees expect today—greater personalization, faster support, and a strong focus on well-being. Generational differences, talent shortages, and operational challenges also emerged as key themes, with both John and Tracey emphasizing the importance of agility and collaboration in delivering exceptional employee experiences.

The session closed with a look at what’s ahead for the industry, from increasing digitalization and sustainability efforts to a sharper focus on data analytics and compliance. Merriweather remains cautiously optimistic, encouraging mobility professionals to adapt to shifting priorities while continuing to center the employee journey.
