A successful relocation isn’t rocket science...

...it's neuroscience! According to Psychology Today, neuroscience aims to understand how a person arises out of a clump of squishy matter. Neuroscience is where psychology meets biology.

As we learn more and more about the brain, its hundred billion neurons and 125,000 trillion switches, we will continue to use that information to understand the impact of stressful situations, like relocation, on the brain. With that understanding, we will seek to improve our support for employees and their families to give them the best experience possible.

At Plus, we have been supporting people with their relocation and assignment opportunities for what is coming up on 50 years. Leveraging different levels of innovation and incorporating technology to enhance the relocation journey will remain a focus over the next 50 years.

Check out our latest insights on understanding the mobile employee journey. When it comes to talent, every element of the "experience" matters: The Happy Customer Equation

Mobility managers aren’t neuroscientists (well, most aren’t, anyway). But if you’re not looking at relocation’s effect on the brain, it may cost your company in both talent and productivity. When an employee’s mental and emotional health hangs in the balance, so does your company’s performance and profitability. One of our Expert Training Partners, Plus Relocation, has an interesting video you can view HERE on what neuroscience can teach us about relocation. We also highly recommend you signing up to their ‘Relo Tip Tuesday’ which is a must-have for all GM professionals, they also have a video library where you can view all archived videos.
