Is your global mobility program supporting your recruiters enough?

In this recently published article, HR thought leader Josh Bersin shares that recruiting teams right now are struggling to keep up. In fact, their comprehensive research shows that only one in four companies are recruiting in an optimized way today. Meanwhile, 74% are underperforming! And maybe more importantly, they found that recruiters, the human part of the process, have become more important than ever. Even today, recruiting is a people-centric process and no software tool can adequately assess an individual’s fit to the job, your team, or your company — which is why recruiters are critical to success.

As we continue to move through or out of the pandemic (you decide), we are seeing quite the bounce back in relocation activity. So the idea of keeping recruiters knowledgeable about the relocation benefits that are there to support new hires could be a win-win for your company and mobility program. We offer up a number of resources in a previous post, "What should recruiters know to successfully partner with mobility teams?"  This can only help to improve the candidate experience and the onboarding process in many different situations .

At the end of the article we referenced above, Josh states:

"Bottom line: in this time of labor shortages, job-hopping, and increase in wage inflation, it’s business-critical to get this process right. Talent Acquisition has become one of the most important priorities in business. PS. If you don’t believe that recruiting is difficult, consider this new data. The “Fill Rate,” the percentage of jobs filled vs. jobs posted in the United States, is at an all-time low. For every ten new jobs created, only six are getting filled. Companies are falling behind – this research will help you keep up."

To support recruiters, we frequently develop and deliver training programs to educate them on the various relocation programs and benefits that are offered to new hires at different levels so that they can clearly communicate, articulate and translate the value of those benefits to candidates. Consider whether your mobility team can better support the recruiters at your company to be more effective and get to that optimized level of being creative and human-centered!

Recruiting, by its very nature, is the most important thing HR organizations do. If you aren’t finding the best, brightest, and most aligned people to join your company, all the other management and business process work will fail. So recruiters, at their core, are doing one of the most strategic jobs in the company.
